"We arrived at the intensive with no idea what to expect, carrying struggles, habits, and fears that felt too heavy and vulnerable to ever say out loud. From the moment we walked in, Troy and Amy created an environment so deeply rooted in grace, safety, and zero judgment that we immediately felt at peace opening up. Knowing that a team of people outside the weekend was actively praying over us added an incredible layer of spiritual support.
Starting with our vertical relationship with Jesus before touching the horizontal aspects of our marriage completely shifted our perspective. While I didn’t initially expect the gender-separated breakouts, that focused time was powerful. Digging into identity in Christ, untangling lies from biblical truth, and having dedicated one-on-one time to repent laid a foundation I truly needed. The schedule gave me the time to sit, reflect, and dig deeper internally on everything we were learning.
The practical communication tools were just as impactful. Learning Jesus’ listening posture from Mark 10, utilizing reflective listening, and practicing 'I' statements completely changed how Kirby and I interact. We started putting them into practice that very weekend. It brought to light our typical conflict patterns; instead of falling into my usual habit of withdrawing, I now feel the self-awareness and spiritual push to stay present and work through tension together. Troy and Amy’s willingness to share openly from their own marriage made every lesson tangible and relatable.
The spiritual turning points on Saturday evening will stay with me forever. Connecting through worship, writing down our ledgers, and burning them together brought deep, tangible release from unforgiveness I had carried for far too long. Following that, guided prayers and candlelit communion provided such a calming, sacred atmosphere to speak from the heart and make promises for the new habits we wanted in our home.
Beyond the teaching, the hospitality made us feel so loved and poured into. The wooded setting was quiet and private, and not having to worry about cooking or cleaning made it a true restful, all-inclusive retreat. The personalized touches—from our engraved Bibles to the handwritten notes—showed just how much intentionality and prayer went into every detail.
We left with renewed hope, practical tools, and a daily rhythm of praying over each other every morning and night. This weekend was a major turning point for our future, and we cannot recommend Kingdom Chaos enough to any couple seeking genuine restoration and growth."
